Original Classics: The Night

The night was cold as ice.

I gazed upon the starry skies.

A mem’ry flashed upon my sight.

I felt like I have taken flight.

The dream I had in a blue moon:

I heard the birds sing in a tune

And watched them fly

Into the golden sunset in the sky.

And so I gazed upon them high

They soared so lovely in the sky.

And as the sunset came upon,

I realized the day was done.

And so I stood on grassy fields

And watched the golden sun

Disappear before the mountain peak.

I woke up in stun.

For the day was done.

Though it was but one

In a dream I meant for sleep

To no more weep.
