Across nations, across cultures, one man – a televangelist – has proved true to his faith in service to God for 52 years.
Bro. Eli Soriano celebrates 52 years of service to God and continues to lead the Members Church of God International through these times, promoting the Christian values of Godly endeavors which is and continues to be the goal of this accomplished preacher.
In a previous blog post, I stood-up for the existence of the Televangelist Who Reads, a man who by his mere presence debunks the claim that religion is fiction. That is none other than Bro. Eli Soriano. Expanding from small towns north of the archipelago, the Church that he leads continues to grow and establish new locales nationwide and internationally through the advances of social media and the World Wide Web. South America was no exception. Noteworthy is that since mid-2000, Brazil and the rest of Latin America started to embrace the gospel and word of God being preached through Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon. The yearly International Thanksgivings held in Brazil showcase a lot of our brethren from the international community proving this verse true:
“Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country;” – Zechariah 8:7 (King James Version)
Bro. Eli Soriano is truly one-of-a-kind. There is not one pastor bold enough to speak the truth of the Bible as he is. Unafraid of the backlash he already receives from other religious groups and members of society, he continues to speak on radio, television, and over the ether. Through the one-of-a-kind “Worldwide Bible Exposition,” people from all over the world gather to have their questions of faith answered. He is consistent and straight forward, speaking even about common and controversial issues through blogs like elisoriano.com and controversyextraordinary.com.
“Ang Dating Daan” or “The Old Path,” the Church’s pioneer program primarily hosted by Bro. Eli, currently airs in over 70 countries in different other languages including Portuguese, Spanish, and Mandarin.
“Bro. Soriano’s persecution led him into exile but the fruit turned out into something good for the Church.”
– Jane Abao, “Thank You For The Sorrows” (kotawinters.wordpress.com)
At 69, he continues steadfastly the preaching of the gospel alongside a variety of charity works that ceaselessly help many. One of which include La Verdad Christian College – an institution that provides free education from primary to tertiary, including free boarding and uniforms. La Verdad Christian College also institutes a strict code of conduct ensuring that educational experience is not only free but of genuine quality. Another project, Transient Homes, is a place that provides free accommodation for a night’s stay to many days free of charge to anyone who may need it; the first-of-its-kind in the Philippines.
Bro. Eli is only man. But what this one man does with the help of God for so many years and, God-willing, years to come is exceptional. That is why I thank God for this man, Bro. Eli, and pray that God blesses our Church with many more fruitful years with him. Millions of thanks be to God.
To God be the Glory!
